Pidgin is a unique linguistic variety of considerable historical, cultural, and linguistic significance. This study contributes to both language research and the documentation of Hawai‘i’s rich linguistic landscape. The objectives are to provide insights into:
(1) the different ways people speak Pidgin,
(2) where and how it is spoken differently, and
(3) in what ways different forms of Pidgin are associated with local identities and characteristics.
